“It all began with that shoe on the wall.
A shoe on the wall!
Shouldn’t be there at all!”
Theo. LeSieg a.k.a Dr. Suess – Wacky Wednesday
As a child, actually even as a toddler, my favorite book was Wacky Wednesday by the famed man who many only know as
“Dr. Suess”, Theo. LeSieg.
My parents used to burry it in my toy box, underneath everything else, and I’d pick out each toy, book, and stuffed animal one by one until I found Wacky Wednesday. I was obsessed! To this day I can recite almost the entire book by memory. No that’s not a joke!
If you aren’t familiar with it, since it is after all, one of the lesser known Suess books, it’s a counting and finding book. A little boy wakes up one morning to find a shoe on his wall, as he begins to dress, and start his day more “wacky” things happen. A tree in the bathroom, an umbrella in a pot on the stove. He tries to continue on with his day as per usual but can’t, as he is the only one who realizes all these “wacky” things! Each page progresses from 1 thing to 2, to 3 and so on through the end of the book, and painted on the pages are “wacky” things for your child to find and count out loud while you’re reading to them! It’s written in the traditional lyrical style of Suess with a toned back version of the typical fantasy world settings.
Fast forward about 15 or so years and I’m dating a young sailor who I’d end up marrying! We are on a date and have some time to kill before we go see a movie, so we head to the book store next to the theater and browse around, just in passing we see a display of Dr. Suess books and there at the bottom is Wacky Wednesday. I quickly mention to him how that was my favorite childhood book, and say the first few lines:
“It all began with that shoe on the wall.
A shoe on the wall!
Shouldn’t be there at all!”
A few months later for Christmas I’m opening my final present from Sam and what do ya know. Wacky Wednesday! *Special Edition: Sam added in several extra wacky things throughout the book, and wrote me a special Dr. Suess style poem as well.*
And over seven years of birthday’s, Christmases, Valentine’s Days and seven anniversaries together, you know what my favorite gift has been?
Wacky Wednesday
So you can imagine how upset I was when we made the move from Virginia to New Hampshire and after unpacking I could not find it. Anywhere.I was frantic, you just can’t replace something like that yah know? Thankfully after I had looked in every. single. box. I decided to check our lock box, and there it was! Exactly where I put it to keep it safe and so that I’d remember where I put it!
Since we are a military family we move often, and misplacing this book again just isn’t an option for me!
So to make sure I always know where it is, I put a Tile on it!
Together We Find
Tile is the worlds best selling Bluetooth Tracker, you can hook, stick or slide it into/onto practically anything, not just keys and wallets!
Tile uses Bluetooth to locate whatever item you #Tile – like my Wacky Wednesday book or a Lost Panda named Ernie…
Each year the Tile community finds over 2 Million lost items! #togetherwefind
Putting Tile into action is super easy, just download the App, sync your Tile with your App (by just pressing the button on your Tile) it’s as easy as that! When you lose your item you just look it up on your phone and you’ll know where it is right away, Tile also works in reverse so if you lose your phone you can hit the button on your Tile and your phone will go off!
What do you need to put a Tile on?

I absolutely need this in my life. I’ve found a way to keep track of my keys (finally), but there’s other things around here that I keep tending to lose. And my husband never puts the nail clippers back where they belong!

This is such a neat little tool! Especially for reasons like moving (thank goodness you found it!). I lose my keys all the time, it’s embarrassing. Lol maybe I’ll get myself a tile for Christmas!

I love that you used it for something so sentimental, though I think I’d need to add one to just about everything I own with as often as I lose things!

This was one of my favorite Seuss books as well. Of course, so was Green Eggs & Ham, but that’s mandatory given my name. I’ve also heard very good things about Tile so thank you for your review!
Ashleigh says
I thought time was a good idea until I realized I tend to lose my phone the most lol

You can use the Tile in reverse!! You just put your Tile somewhere (like with double sided tape on a wall for example) hit the button and then it makes your phone go off so you can find it!!

Never had heard of tile! will for sure check it out now!
