Well y’all, I’ve FINALLY gotten ALL of the photos from our Vacation in December all sorted and edited – it only took 3 weeks, yikes. The first stop on our trip was California, Long Beach/Los Alamitos area to be exact, I didn’t take a ton of photos, because I was just enjoying our time, (Hey, even bloggers need a break sometimes too!) but I wanted to share what I did document, along with the great places we went, for your next trip to Cali.
I’ve been to California a few times before, and to me, it’s an… overwhelming place. There are so many people, so many different little places and towns, and just so MUCH to look at! Buildings everywhere, cars everywhere, people everywhere, and I never feel like I get to do or see as much as I wanted. But this time I was more than happy to spend time in a little town in the middle of it all called Cypress, with Zach’s family, relaxing, and going no where fast. We were treated to tons of laughs, some Fijian specialties courtesy of Zach’s step mother, and great memories.
laguna beach
I know when you hear/read Laguna Beach you think of the show and Lauren Conrad. I mean, it’s kind of hard not to if you’re between the ages of like 25 and 35, BUT! If you like architecture, home design or just enjoy driving through a nice neighborhood and looking at the pretty houses (guilty as charged) Laguna is ACTUAL #housegoals. I could have spent all day driving/walking up and down the hilly roads looking at the houses, some of which were built over 100 years ago! The views are also INCREDIBLE, like actually jaw dropping!
1,000 steps beach
This little gem is hidden on the southern end of Laguna Beach. It’s a straight down (and thus straight up when you finish) climb to a gorgeous beach! The trail is wedged between two beautiful and quirky homes and worth the thigh burn on the way back up!
long beach
shoreline village
One of my favorite places we went in Long Beach was Shoreline Village. They had live music all day, we were there pretty early, around 10 0r 11 maybe, and stayed for a few hours plus lunch, and the live music never stopped, which is something I love, so for me it was great! There were a bunch of shops and places to eat right on the marina, which was gorgeous. One of my favorite things about Shoreline Village was that it had this vintage, cozy feel, with the colored buildings, white fences, and boats rocking in the water, it was just a really relaxing place to spend the day.
We had a terrific time in California, even though it rained most of the time we were there. Have you ever been to California? What are your favorite places to go, see and do?
