Alright Y’all! We are officially TEN DAYS away from Valentine’s Day! THE COUNT DOWN IS ON! And if you’re anything like me, you probably still don’t have a gift for your honey bunny…. Well, look no further! I’m here to help you create a gift for your love that they will be floored by! All you need is a phone, something to set your phone on, and a sexy attitude!
If I’m being honest I think that boudoir photos are a great gift for any occasion, or not occasion. I love that this style of photography can take a person and make them feel totally gorgeous, sexy and powerful. And I love that they can be used for an obviously extremely private and special gift for someone you love! Nothing says “I’m totally head over heels for you” like boudoir photos.
BUT I know that they can be intimidating, and that some people just aren’t comfortable baring some or all for a photographer. I mean, these photos can be pretty intimate, and there are certain things you only want your eyes, and your partners eyes to see. In addition to this setting up a photoshoot can be timely and may be out of your current budget. So to bypass all of those things, as well as a mirror panty selfie, I’m here to show you how to take some damn good boudoir style photos YOURSELF! And with your phone no less! So let’s get to it!

To achieve this photo here’s what my set up looked like :
Before you say “But Hanna, I don’t have a tripod.” First of all, you don’t need one – get a chair, stack some books up, use a tv tray table, your dresser, whatever, get creative! As long as it’s the right height, you’re good to go! But, if you did want to order a tripod, here’s the one I have from Amazon!
*tip:* to figure out how high you need to stack things, or set your tripod to, just bend down until you see what you want the camera to capture, then make sure your phones camera is at your eye level, whatever height that may be.

Again, if you don’t have a tripod, just put whatever you’re using to hold your phone up ALL the way flesh with the wall, that’s what’s going to give you this shot!

To achieve this photo here’s what my set up looked like :
*tip:* instead of zooming in when taking the photo, try setting the camera up on your bed, closer to you and slightly above eye level to achieve this angle!

To achieve this photo here’s what my set up looked like :
I know y’all are probably like wait… huh? This one looks hard, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be taking photos like this all the time! So I used one of those little cereal boxes, you know the ones that come in like a 10 pack with different kinds of cereal? That or a cardboard box of a similar size. Then I just trimmed the flappy ends off, and reenforced it with duct tape. SEE – NOT HARD! THEN, you just tape it to the ceiling. I will say it stays up way easier, better and with less tape on a smooth ceiling, but if you have popcorn ceilings just be sure to use a lot of tape. And no, it doesn’t leave a space of missing popcorns.
So once you have that all ready to go, you just put the self timer on (or sync your phone to a remote) and slide it into the box with the camera sticking out! SEE! Not as hard as you thought right? Honestly the hardest part about this is getting into position quickly if you don’t have a remote. I lost mine recently so I did these without one. I just put it on the 10 second timer, hit the up volume button (which on an iPhone also takes a photo when the camera is open) and then quickly laid down on the bed.
This Lingerie set is from Amazon (it’s Prime), under $20, comes in multiple colors and fits amazingly! You can find it HERE.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and ask! I hope that this not only makes someone happy, but I hope that YOU can find your inner Dita Von Tease while taking some at home boudoir photos!
xoxo

Also a tip is putting your phone on video recording if you don’t want to mess with a timer or button. Just record it,hold some poses then when finished just screenshot photos from the video!

Did you use any kind of editing thing for these pictures?
platformsandpacifiers@gmail.com says
Yes! Just the normal editing features that come with photos on an iPhone! My favorite filter is the “Dramatic” one and I usually slide it over to 50% – all of these are edited with the Dramatic filter!
