I have a question for y’all :
Do you ever want to go have a night out – but don’t want to actually go out to the crowded, loud bars? SAME.
But what’s a gal to do? Wine and a bubble bath? Nah, I do that pretty regularly anyway.
Beers? Too basic… too… “BBQ” for replacing a night out on the town.
What about an Old Fashioned and something you don’t actually have the time to do often? Like read, play a board game even? YES!
So let’s get into it because I know y’all are ready for a good Old Fashioned Night In, with a Modern Twist and lucky for you, DeKuyper and I have got you covered!
step 1 : set up your space
One thing that I love about going out to different bars and restaurants is the “ambience” , the vibes if you will – that different places have, and give off. If you’re in a brightly colored bar, with loads of art and stuff to look at, your mood will probably be positively effected! So going with that train of thought, spruce up the area where you’ll be enjoying your night in! Hang some string lights, clean up any clutter, get out some nice candles and use your fancy dish-ware that you don’t normally get to use!
step 2 : choose your entertainment
Find something to do! Make it something you don’t normally do – just to make your night in extra special. Find a new show you’ve been wanting to start and binge watch it. Rent a movie you didn’t get to see in theaters. You can even opt for some Old Fashioned options like a board game, cards, or reading a book! I personally love to read, but haven’t had the time for it lately!
step 3 : fill your bowl
Find some yummy snacks, or run up to the store to get some that you usually don’t indulge in! I picked chocolate caramel covered popcorn! One of my faves, but one I don’t get often. Pecans go really well with Old Fashioned’s, so I mixed some of those in as well! Some other great Old Fashioned Pairings are: pork chops, bacon, chocolate, figs, traditional wedge salad with blue cheese, and bbq chicken wings.
step 4 : make your drink
I’ve only recently become a fan of Old Fashioned’s and I’m not really sure WHY I didn’t try one sooner! To get a perfect Old Fashion cocktail every time I use DeKuyper Classic Ol’ Fashion Liqueur. All you have to do is mix that, with your favorite bourbon, stir and enjoy! Two steps and SO easy! With DeKuyper Classic Ol’ Fashion I have a nearly effortless way to make at-home cocktails that are delicious and perfectly simple.
