Spring Break is right around the corner y’all! For some of us it’s actually here already! Can you believe it?!
When I was younger Spring Break was for taking trips with your friends, having the most fun you possibly could in one week and of course, breaking out all your new Spring and Summer outfits and swimsuits!
But now that I’m a parent, Spring Break is filled with planning activities for my kids, snacks, spring cleaning, snacks, playdates, housekeeping, snacks – so many snacks and work. Not much of a “break” am I right?
So when rue21 contacted me about styling some of their new Spring collection I knew instantly what my inspiration was going to be! My Dream Spring Break, sans kids. The Spring Break of my parenting dreams if you will! So join me, and rue21 as I day dream about what I would do and what I would wear if I had a few days to myself to do whatever I wanted!
a nothing day
My dream Spring Break would start out with a Nothing Day in this vibrant 70’s inspired look! Y’all know what a nothing day is right? A day where you don’t have any plans, no “to do” list, and no responsibilities! More than a big trip somewhere, I crave a “Nothing Day”! My life is ruled by errands, tasks, and work, as I’m sure yours is, and I want just one day with not a care in the world!
These Bright Orange Dolphin Shorts paired with this Tie Dye “Good Vibes Ahead” tee from rue21 is perfect for a day of relaxing, shopping, grabbing some ice-cream in the warm Spring sun, calling up some friends to meet at a casual beachside restaurant or taking a nap. I mean how could you not have a good day in such a vibrant and comfortable outfit?
go to a concert or festival
One thing I love is live music! Even if I don’t know the band, or any of the songs, live music is good for the soul, and you can’t tell me otherwise. Plus there is just something about Spring Break that pairs perfectly with a great concert, right? rue21 had so many selections that I would pick for a Spring concert or festival that it was actually hard to choose just one single outfit.
To create my best festival look I ended up going with this stunning Bell Sleeve Tie Blouse (which I am obsessed with and already plan to wear again soon) and these High Waisted Two-Tone Denim Shorts. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the two tone thing but wanted to give it a try for myself and I have to say, I felt pretty cool in these shorts! I paired those with a pair of ankle boots that I got from rue 21 back in October. All in all this outfit gave me mega boho babe vibes, which I love!
a day in the grass
Besides the warm weather and sunshine, my favorite thing about Spring is watching all of the plants come back to life! So of course one of my dream Spring Break days would be dedicated to enjoying the Spring weather outside with my toes in the grass and plants in my hands!
When choosing an outfit for this dream day I wanted something that was comfortable but also cute because, who doesn’t want to take pictures of themselves surrounded by plants and dreamy tall grass? I also wanted to be able to feel the warm spring sunshine on my skin.
These Dad Jeans were an obvious pick for me; I knew they would be comfortable and I’ve been loving the relaxed jean trend lately. I paired them with this Open Back Tee that is perfect for feeling the sunshine on my skin! (btw, this tee is so soft that I wouldn’t be mad if I had a blanket made out of whatever angel fabric this top is made from!)
What do you plan on doing over Spring Break? Which one of these activities and outfits do you like best? Let me know in the comments!
