Hey! What’s Up? HELLO Y’all!
Did you know that in addition to a Mama, Wife, and Blogging Lady I’m also a Certified Dental Assistant? Yep! That’s right! Can you imagine me cleaning your kids teeth? Well, I can! And I used to! In Virginia I worked at one of the best Pediatric Dentists in the state, and I loved working there. Once the kid’s are in school I may even go back to Dentistry, it’s something I really enjoyed doing, that’s why I’m so excited to team up with Hello Products to share their wonderful toothpastes with you!

So, first things first, I have two opinions on this toothpaste, one as a dental professional, and the other as a mother. As a dental professional I’ve been trained to know what exactly is, and isn’t good for our oral hygiene routines, and as a mother, I just want something that’s a great product, that works and that fits our families needs.
As a dental professional I love that this toothpaste is make with tooth healthy ingredients like:
Xylitol: actually keeps bacteria from sticking to your teeth
Fluoride Ion: fluoride is controversial, however, it is ESSENTIAL to remineralization of the teeth! Basically fluoride keeps your enamel strong, strong enamel means less cavities, sensitivity and decay, no fluoride no strong teeth. Simple as that!
Coconut Oil: Healing to the gums, kills bacteria.
Aloe Vera Gel: less harsh on sensitive teeth, soothing to gums, helps eliminate bacteria.
Potassium Nitrate: reduces pain in sensitive teeth.
As a mother I love this toothpaste because they have options for our entire family! Sensitivity Relieving paste for me, Whitening paste for Mr. Smith, fluoride free for little baby Harper (I know! Above I said fluoride is essential to oral health, and it IS! But fluoride free training toothpaste is still the “go-to” for babies until they learn to spit the tooth paste out, remember I said fluoride is essential for the teeth, not the stomach!) and fluoridated children’s flavored toothpaste for Thomas!
Something else I absolutely love about HELLO Toothpaste is that it’s NOT tested on animals, and they ONLY use natural ingredients. They are also Vegan, and the tubes that the paste is in are BPA FREE! Plus the paste is MADE IN THE USA! Woot!
This paste makes me one happy Hippie Mama and one happy American Mama y’all!

The wee ones absolutely love their pastes! Harper’s training toothpaste is watermelon flavored and Thomas’ children’s paste is bubble gum flavored!
The Children’s Fluoride toothpaste is also backed by the ADA (American Dental Association) which actually tests and rates products, and HELLO children’s paste was shown to “prevent and reduce tooth decay”.

My husband and I always disagree on which toothpaste to purchase, I need something that helps with my sensitive teeth, but since I’m a coffee, wine and tea drinker, I also like using whitening products because no one likes coffee teeth, am I right? But the thing is, sensitive teeth and teeth whitening sort of equals disaster. Whitening products are known for making teeth sensitive, so what’s a lass like me to do?
Well, I use BOTH! In the morning I brush with the whitening paste, and at night I brush with the sensitivity paste! And here’s why, when I brush at night, I don’t rinse after I spit – hear me out here y’all! – then I immediately go to bed, this way the left over toothpaste has time to absorb into my teeth and sooth any sensitivity! Remember those ingredients above? Specifically the Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera Gel and Potassium Nitrate, well when you let them sit on the teeth while you sleep, the mouth, teeth and nerves inside the tooth, have more time to absorb these ingredients.

I know most of y’all are Spring Cleaning right now! I’ve been doing it since March! haha baby steps right? So how can you “Spring Clean” your oral hygiene routine?
Ditch the chemicals – people tend to forget about chemicals in their toothpaste and other hygiene products for some reason, while they obsess over whats in their food.
Read your labels – seriously, look at the back of your toothpaste, if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, toss it!
Determine what exactly you need – are you using the right toothpaste for your mouth? Do you have sensitive teeth/gums? Use the right paste for what YOU need.
What’s on your Spring Cleaning List? Let me know in the Comments below!
