When people find out I’m an influencer/blogger/content creator they often have TONS of questions. I try to answer them the best I can, but sometimes it’s hard, so in an effort to share what it’s like “behind a blog” with you all, I’m going to start with something super basic!
My MUST HAVE items to bring on Photoshoots!
Photoshoots are a HUGE part of what we influencers and content creators do (obviously) – and there is a ton that goes on behind the scenes of a photo that sometimes we don’t share! For example, sometimes I shoot one campaign at a time, at one location. And other times, I’ll take a full day – hours and hours y’all – to shoot a few campaigns and creatives in different locations. And those days, can get crazy! So for the curious minds, or for anyone starting out, here are my “Must Have” Photoshoot Items!
Hint! You can hover over the below photo in order to shop it!
Large Hand Mirror
First on my list is a larger sized hand mirror. This comes in handy for multiple reasons – you can get a CLEAR view of your make up and hair, where checking on your phone doesn’t really provide a crystal clear image. You can also prop that baby up and double check your entire outfit, or hold it out, and at an angle to check your outfit that way. It’s also useful as a nice little “lighting” trick when you need a bit more light on your face in a photo!
Translucent Powder
Look, I live in Florida so that equals face sweat, and make up melt. Blotting pads are ok, but sometimes they remove your make up and that’s what you don’t want happening! I always keep translucent powder with me to put on my sweaty or oily areas when I’m shooting.
Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Portable Packets
I know you’re thinking “Wait what? Peanut Butter? Really?” But yes! These new Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packets are perfect for taking on photoshoots because they are individually packaged, taste amazing, and are a terrific alternative for unhealthy snacks like chips. These tiny 1.15 oz. packs contain 7 grams of protein too, keeping me focused and energized. I love that Windstone Farms has been family owned for 35 years and that they are offering these NEW, squeezable, on the go packets at Walmart, in the condiment isle. You can also earn .50 cents back with this Ibotta offer found HERE! Check HERE to find where you can get Windstone or shop online. Oh! And be on the lookout for a demo at a Walmart near you where you can try the NEW Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Portable Packets, August 8-10.
Electrolyte Water
No matter where or when you are shooting you need to make sure you’re staying hydrated! It’s so easy to forget to drink water when you are running around all day, changing outfits, etc – and going the extra step to make sure you have electrolyte fortified water is something you’ll never regret doing!
Comfy Shoes
I’ll be honest with y’all, if I have heels on in a photo, chances that I wore those all day are…. 1/100. Always bring some comfortable shoes with you to wear while you’re walking to your location, setting up, driving around to another location, and all the in betweens! You’ll thank yourself later! I promise.
Safety Pins
Best laid plans is all I have to say about this one. I have been right in the middle of shooting and had straps break, buttons pop, clothes not hang the way I want, the list goes on. Safety pins are SO SMALL but are a HUGE life saver when you need it and are 100000% worth remembering to bring!
I hope this list helps you to be prepared on your photoshoots, or just in everyday life! Don’t forget to look for new Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packets in the condiment isle at your local Walmart! My favorite way to eat them is with fresh pears and apples!
