It will looks great in winter layered with tights and a moto jacket too!

I am LOVING this Burnt Orange Frayed Hem Skimmer Sweater! It will be on repeat as the weather cools off, and is PERFECT for layering over dresses, as you can see. I also love it with distressed jeans for a quick, easy and stylish “cool girl” look.

One of my favorite pieces of this collection is this extremely versatile Black Led Zeppelin California Graphic Tee. Graphic tees are a staple piece in any closet because they pair well with almost anything! Jeans? Check. Dress Pants? Check. Bell Bottoms? Check. Mini Skirt? Check. Maxi Skirt? Midi Skirt? Nothing says “I’m confident” like a pair of white jeans! I’m serious! You could spill anything on them at any time – you have to be brave to wear them! That’s why I picked these White High Waisted Ripped Ankle Jeggings – because I’m confident and ready to show it girl! I love these from rue21 because they are so comfortable, AND they fit great!

Another piece that’s great not only for Back to School, but for all the time is an easy “go to” dress that you can layer! Not a dress that IS the outfit, I’m talking about a dress that can either stand on it’s own, OR look great with layered pieces. My new Black Daisy Print Cinched Drawstring Mini Dress is a perfect example of a prime layering dress. It looks darling on it’s own, but it also looks fantastic with a tee shirt, a button up chambray shirt, or a jacket.

Basic pieces AREN’T basic. You NEED basic pieces in your wardrobe to pair with trendy, over the top, or uberstylish pieces. Plus great basics can be the building block to any great look! My current fave is this (suuuuper soft) Yellow Super Soft Ribbed Keyhole Cutout Tee It looks great with practically anything, and the little keyhole detail is just enough to make this basic piece stand on it’s own if I need it to.
you’re my butterfly, sugar, baby
If your’e a 90’s baby like me, you know this one! As soon as I saw this shirt I started singing “Butterfly” by CrazyTown so I just HAD to have this cami. But once I got it and tried it on, I fell in LOVE! This Blue Butterfly Print Mesh Ruffled Bungee Cami is perfect with a pair of high rise jeans, or with a darling little skirt. I mean, come on, you know you probably had a shirt like this back in ’96 – I know I did!

This skirt was a big leap for me – I don’t have ANY satin in my closet. Literally NONE. But I am SO glad I picked up this Brown Leopard Print Satin Midi Skirt at rue21. It looks great with pretty much anything I pair it with, and is different than pretty much anything I already own. 10/10 would recommend as a base outfit piece!

Now wait just a minute! You didn’t think I’d close out this post without a great pair of jeans did you? I mean, what’s “back to school” clothes shopping without a great new pair of jeans? Did you even go shopping if you didn’t get jeans? Probably not. My top pick from Rue’s new arrivals are these Dark Wash Ultimate Stretch Ripped Skinny Ankle Jeans – they are perfect for me. I love the wash, the fit, and the distressed look.
